July 15, 2010, REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and MUMBAI — Omidyar Network announced today a grant of $2.1 million over two years to the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) to extend property rights to common land to India’s poorest communities. FES will use the funding to advance policy advocacy, grow operations, and offer new programs that will enable 1.5 million people to obtain property rights to community land while also restoring natural resources in these areas.

July 15, 2010, REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Omidyar Network today announced a grant commitment of up to $1 million to the Project on Government Oversight (POGO). POGO will use the grant to increase its coverage of critical government agencies and augment its communication and outreach efforts to U.S. citizens. Omidyar Network’s support of the U.S. investigative watchdog group is the sixth and latest grant from its government transparency initiative this year.

D.light Design Closes $5.5 Million Series B Financing
June 24, 2010, HONG KONG and REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — D.light Design, a global company that designs and manufactures solar powered consumer products for families without access to reliable electricity, today announced that it has secured USD5.5 million in Series B financing. The round is led by new investor Omidyar Network and includes all major Series A investors, including Acumen Fund, Nexus Venture Partners, Gray Matters Capital, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Garage Technology Ventures.
