IPA is a leading research and policy nonprofit that evaluates potential solutions to global poverty problems using randomized evaluations. This rigorous methodology allows the organization to isolate the effects of a program from other factors and create high quality evidence, just like in clinical research. One or more groups receive a program and another group serves as the comparison or “control” group.
IPA also works to ensure that decision makers use and apply this evidence by making it useful and accessible. To date, the organization has worked with over 400 leading academics to conduct over 600 evaluations in 51 countries. This research has informed hundreds of successful programs that now impact millions of individuals worldwide.
