MissionU welcomes its first class and an $8.5M series A round

MissionU, a college alternative providing students with practical skills for the professional world, today announced that it has raised $8.5 million in a Series A round led by FirstMark Capital, with additional investors including First Round Capital, Learn Capital, and Omidyar Network.

With a model allowing students to graduate debt-free, with no upfront tuition, and a focus on core skills providing a clear path to employment, MissionU is pioneering a new approach to career-based higher education.
