As a director of investments at Omidyar Network, Bharath is responsible for leading the firm’s Governance & Citizen Engagement investments in India.
Bharath came to Omidyar Network with extensive experience across management consulting and social development. He was most recently a director at the Antara Foundation, a nonprofit focused on maternal and child health, where he led the Foundation’s advocacy efforts and led a partnership with Stanford University to enhance the skills of frontline healthcare workers using Stanford’s medical training content and pedagogy. Bharath previously worked at the University of Chicago, where he was Executive Director of their research center in India and identified avenues for the university to expand its presence in the country, including creating a fellowship program in partnership with Indian State and Central Governments. Bharath also worked for the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) in their Washington, DC and New Delhi offices. In this role, he was responsible for setting up and leading CEB’s Indian business and for leading CEB’s research across Asia. He began his career as a management consultant with Booz & Company and McKinsey & Company.
Bharath received an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a B.Tech from IIT Madras.
