Why We Invested

SOLIDUS provides long-term quasi-equity financing to leading Latin American microfinance institutions to help them grow and increase their lending. By strengthening the capital structure of microfinance institutions and enabling them to lend to individuals throughout Latin America, SOLIDUS helps to meet the credit demands of hundreds of thousands of poor individuals in the region.

SOLIDUS promotes commercial microfinance in Latin America, a region with high-growth potential for microlending. SOLIDUS is expected to ultimately serve the credit demand of hundreds of thousands of Latin American people, who currently have no access to the formal financial sector.
