Dena is a venture partner at Omidyar Network where she manages an education investment portfolio including African Leadership University (ALU), African Leadership Academy (ALA), Crisis Text Line, Endeavor, High Resolves, and Teach for All. Dena joined Omidyar Network in 2002 and is one of the longest tenured members of the firm.
Prior to her role on the Education initiative, she was part of the Human Capital team, providing support to portfolio organizations and leading investments in talent and leadership development. Dena also led investments in a wide range of marketplace and talent-related organizations including DonorsChoose.org, Global Giving, FUSE Corps, and RippleWorks. She currently sits on the board of directors for Crisis Text Line and FUSE Corps.
Before joining Omidyar Network, Dena was a consultant at Ripple Effect Consulting, where she worked to improve the organizational effectiveness of nonprofits, and Accenture, where she led change management efforts for large-scale system implementations in the high-tech industry.
Dena earned a B.S. in business management and organizational analysis from Santa Clara University.
